County wants $6.5M for business park

    Milford — County officials are marketing the 320-acre, county business park in Blooming Grove for $6.5 million and have given an exclusive listing to the Wilkes-Barre commercial real estate firm, NAI Mertz. The commissioners and the Pike County Industrial Development Corporation (PIDCO) announced the agreement with NAI Mertz on Wednesday. In a statement, Commissioner’s Chair Harry Forbes said, “The Board of Commissioners is extremely pleased about this positive step forward on the marketing of the business park. The Board of Commissioners is doing everything within its power and influence to bring about the success of this project which will benefit the residents and taxpayers of Pike County.” According to the statement, the “Commissioners and PIDCO are now Interested in selling the whole park, with approximately 320 developable acres, to a developer enthused by the investment potential, and/or to businesses for development of individual lots. The asking price for the entire park is $6.5 million. Lots in the Phase II or III area are available for $45,000 per acre and the Phase I parcel Is available for $35,000 per acre.” The county has been developing the park for the past 10 years and attempting to market it for the past two to three years.
