Delaware Valley prom was a moonlit moment'

WESTFALL After months of planning, prepping, shopping, spending and stressing, more than 400 Delaware Valley High School seniors and their dates spent a night with the stars at the 2009 senior class prom, themed “A Moonlit Moment.” The May 15 event took place at the Best Western Inn at Hunt’s Landing. Midway through the evening, seniors Derek Houseknecht and Casey Donovan were named prom king and queen. Most prom- goers left shortly thereafter to head off to campgrounds, amusement parks, living rooms, or the New Jersey shore for the rest of the weekend. Planning for the function began in the winter by prom committee members, the senior class officers and senior class adviser Kathy Farley. Students paid $25 each per ticket, which included a key chain and photo frame as mementos. At the end of the evening, seniors left their final hoorah of a dance with a cardboard star onto which each student’s name was inscribed in hand and a high school career nearly behind them.
