SHOHOLA n Over 75 fifth and sixth grade students at Shohola Elementary recently performed “Dig It,” a musical tale of ancient civilizations. The show consisted of 7 scenes. Scene one began in Ethiopia where two archeologists discovered a complete skeleton of an early ancestor. Scene two goes on to explore “the land between two rivers” also known as Mesopotamia. Scene three’s adventure took place in Egypt, while scene four in Asia. Scene five moves to Greece, and Scene six is in Rome. After the audience is given a taste of a big part of ancient civilization, scene seven ends with the audience and performers looking forward to the future. It was a lot of hard work for the students as they only had about two months to learn the show. The play’s director, Dawn Valentine, is a first year music teacher at Shohola Elementary. The play was pronounced as magnificent, with bravos to all the students.
