Dingman to host codes training
DINGMAn In an effort to bring Pennsylvania Uniform Construction Code training courses within a reasonable travel distance to Pike County municipal building code officials, third-party agencies and building professionals, Dingman Township has contracted with the Pennsylvania Construction Code Academy (PCCA) to host their Mechanical Essentials course at the Dingman Township Volunteer Firehouse on Apr. 14 and 15. This two-day course covers a combination of subjects from the 2006 Residential Building Code. Topics include general administration, hearing and cooling equipment, exhaust, mechanical duct design and construction, combustion air, chimneys and vents, and fuel supply systems and gas pipe sizing. Course instruction is provided by the Pennsylvania Housing Research & Resource Center and provides 12 UCC Continuing Education credit hours. The registration fee of $175 per person includes the course (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day), lunch and refreshments both days and a training manual. Attendees must bring the 2006 IRC code book.
