Dispositions in the Pike County Court of Judge Joseph Kameen

MILFORD — Those defendants who had earlier entered guilty pleas or were found guilty at trial and were sentenced on Jan. 8 included the following. Janelle Serbin, 19, of Tafton, for July 2007 through May 2008 charges including criminal trespassing, theft by unlawful taking and forgery in Greene and Palmyra, was fined $1,000, ordered to make restitution, and sentenced to six months to four years in the Pike County Jail, followed by one year of probation. Dustin Carstetter, 25 of MillRift, for an Apr. 2007 charge of delivery of controlled substances in Westfall, was fined $500, lost his license for one year, and was sentenced to four to 23 months in the Pike County Jail. Christopher Trimble, 22 of Middletown, N.Y. for Oct. and Dec. 2007 charges of delivery of controlled substances in Westfall, was fined $1,200 and sentenced to 30 months to five years in state prison. Alvie McCane, 27, of Greentown, for Sept. 2007 charges of theft by unlawful taking and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle in Palmyra and other locations in Lackawanna and Wayne Counties, was fined $750, sentenced to four years on probation and transferred to Lackawanna County. Lisa Bivona, 45, of Greentown, for Sept. 2007 charges including two counts of criminal conspiracy to deliver controlled substances and delivery of controlled substances in Lackawaxen, was fined $1,800, and sentenced to 2.5 to five years in state prison. William Dilger, 73, of Matamoras, for an Oct. 2007 charge of murder in the third degree, in Matamoras, was fined $5,000 and sentenced to six to 20 years in state prison. Theresa Turney, 43, of Lake Ariel, for Oct. 2007 charges of passing a bad check in Greene, was fined $200, sentenced to two years on probation and transferred to Wayne County. Richard Palmer, 24, of Bushkill, for an Apr. 2008 charge of simple assault in Lehman, was fined $500 ordered to make restitution and sentenced to one to 18 months in the Pike County Jail. Christopher Gaita, 25, of Milford, for an Apr. 2008 charge of driving under the influence in Dingman, was fined $1,000, lost his license for one year, and was sentenced to 72 hours to six months in the Pike County Jail. Ross Stevens, 43, of Milford, a March 2008 charge of theft by unlawful taking in Dingman, ws fined $1,000, and ordered to make restitution. George Simonson, 68, of Deltona Fla., for Dec. 2007 charges including criminal attempt to commit arson, causing or risking a catastrophe, and recklessly endangering, in Blooming Grove, was fined $15,000 and sentenced to four to 12 years in state prison.
