Driver safety programs from AARP

    Refresher and first time courses coming at two locations in April PIKE COUNTY — Driver safety refresher courses from AARP are available in eight-hour and four-hour sessions for drivers 55 and older. Presented by AARP volunteers, the course presents rules of the road and updates, and discusses how age related changes may effect driving, and tips on compensating for those changes. Attendance at either session qualifies eligible participants for a discount on auto insurance premiums for a three year period. Eligibility verification with your insurance company is recommended. The sessions will be held in the Pike County Area Agency on Aging center and the Delaware Valley High School. There are no tests and membership in AARP is not required, A $12 non-refundable fee per person for AARP members ($14 for non AARP members) is charged for either session. Advance registration is required, The eight-hour session is available for drivers who have never taken a driver safety course. The session is divided into two days of four hours each. The four-hour refresher is available for drivers who have previously attended a driver safety course and are PA licensed and insured. Those taking the four-hour session must provide evidence of attendance at a previous course. The sessions are scheduled for the following dates: Delaware Valley High School, US Route 6 and 209, Milford, PA.
