DINGMAN — Earlier this month, township Supervisors’ Chair Tom Mincer reported letters had been sent to state officials asking for their support of a plan to build an emergency access road to Interstate Highway 84 from Raymondskill Road. Mincer’s request was to facilitate a request by Dingman Township Fire Chief Bill Mikulak who sought faster, alternate access to cut response times in the 11-mile stretch between the Lords Valley and Milford exits. State Senator Lisa Baker was said to be “pushing” PennDOT as well as other local, state, and federal officials for their support. Additionally, Mikulak told the township supervisors that the township’s new mass casualty trailer needs $18,000 worth of supplies to make it ready to service as many as 100 victims at a time. He said requests for donation of medical supplies have gone to four regional hospitals. “Donations would be of great help and after your resources have been exhausted, let us know what else is needed,” Mincer responded, adding, “this is a necessary piece of equipment for a township and county that is growing as rapidly as Dingman and Pike. We need to make it ready.”
