Milford — The Pike County Economic Development Authority has a new computer station dedicated to entrepreneurial development. The new computer station was made available as part of the celebration of Entrepreneurship Week throughout Pike County in late February. The authority worked with the University of Scranton’s Small Business Development Center to set up the new computer station with pre-set resources to assist those in business or thinking about opening a business. There is no fee for using this computer station. “Searching on the internet can be time consuming and frustrating as the vast amounts of content can make it difficult to find information. This new computer station provides entrepreneurs with quick access to online resources covering topics such as registering a business name, writing a business plan, managing a small business, financing, energy efficiency and environmental compliance, marketing, etc.,” said Rachel Hendricks of the authority. In addition to the computer station, the authority is making printed materials available and online access to the JJ Hill Reference Library. Through this online library, authority staff can access numerous databases and search for information by topic, company or industry. Using the JJ Hill Reference Library, EDA staff can search for information from numerous other resources ranging from Dun and Bradstreet reports to sample business plans. To use these resources, visit the Pike County Economic Development Authority’s office at 209 East Harford Street in Milford.
