Family supports United Way again

MILFORD - As the Bob Kiesendahl of Woodloch presented a check for $5,000 to Pike United Way, making a total of $41,000 over a seven-year period, he reminisced about their first donation. “When Pike United Way first came to see us six years ago to describe their vision of forming an organization that would raise funds to improve and expand human services in Pike County, we immediately saw the need, liked their plan, and agreed to make a leadership gift. It was the first such gift received by the fledgling United Way, and the beginning of our long-term commitment to this vitally needed organization.” Kiesendahl said. Accepting the check, President Mike Peifer of Pike United Way said, “United Way of Pike County has grown so much and has helped support so many agencies and residents since that first conversation. The Kiesendahls continuous support has been a tremendous help in meeting the needs of Pike County residents.” Ron Schmalzle, UWPC Campaign chair went on to say, “The Pike United Way Annual Campaign goal for 2006-07 is $150,000. It will take many people, and many donations, both large and small to meet it. If you would like to join the Kiesendahl family, and the hundreds of other community partners who are part of this effort, there are several ways you can do it.” United Way of Pike County accepts checks made payable to United Way of Pike County, Box 806 Milford, PA 18337.
