Fifth graders enjoy Ellis Island

Shohola fifth-grade students last month enjoyed a trip to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. Due to the unseasonably warm weather students were able to enjoy the sites and have lunch outdoors. Kyla D. and Alexandra P. enjoyed their ice-cream cones after searching the wall (in background) for ancestors. Kyla was looking for and found her great-great aunt’s name, while Alexandra found the names of both her great-great grandparents, who came over from Italy. (Contributed photo)
