Food director named award winner at Port Jervis hospital

Bon Secours Community’s Todd Engelhart Port Jervis, N.Y. Todd Engelhart has been named Food and Nutrition director of the Year by Morrison’s Health Care Services. Morrison is nationally recognized as the largest independent company focused exclusively on health care food service. Morrison is a provider of food, nutrition and dining services to the hospital and senior living markets and recently celebrated its 30th anniversary with Bon Secours Community Hospital. Each year, Morrison’s Health Care selects an individual who exemplifies the best in all aspects of his/her work ethic and strives for excellence while maintaining the highest quality standards in their field. Morrison’s Northeast region includes 34 food and nutrition directors from which one is chosen as Morrison’s Director of the Year. Todd Engelhart, of Bon Secours Community Hospital, has been selected to receive this distinction. Todd explains that this recognition has been received as a result of a team effort and is quick to give credit to everyone working in his department. “Our food and nutrition department implemented new strategies this year founded on overall customer satisfaction for our patients, their families and our employees,” stated Engelhart. Notably, the department underwent a café and kitchen remodel and redesign. “We continued to offer nutritious meals to employees, patients and their families while undergoing a renovation that most would consider disruptive; when in fact, our overall satisfaction scores increased despite this challenge. Although I am most honored to have received this award, it is truly a merit for my entire team,” he said. Engelhart has worked as Bon Secours Community Hospital’s Food and Nutrition director for 19 months and served in various capacities in the food service industry throughout his career. He is a 1981 graduate of Port Jervis High School and a graduate of Sullivan County Community College.
