Friends in need of homes

PORT JERVIS, N.Y. - Romeo and Mario are male, 2-year-old Shetland Sheepdog (Sheltie)/ pomeranian mixes. They are brothers who came to the shelter because their owner works long hours. They are both housebroken and if left alone for many hours will “go” on a “wee wee” pad. Romeo is very loving and wants to be a lap dog but doesn’t like kids getting in his face too much. Romeo will chase cars if he gets loose and might roam. However, once he is neutered by the shelter, that may help him stick closer to home if loose. Romeo is usually the more outgoing and vocal of the two but at the shelter, he is the more shy of the two. Mario has a curled up tail and is smaller in size than Romeo. Mario was afraid of the cats in a friend’s home so we think he’d be fine in a home with cats. He would probably be fine with children as well but hasn’t been around other dogs. Both have been well cared for and will make great companions. Mario and Romeo are about 30-40 lbs. Both know “sit” and “come.” Romeo is on the right in the photo. They will separate for good homes. Miracle is an altered male orange tabby about 1 year old. He is very loving and will make a great pet. He came to the shelter as a stray and is using the litter box in his cage. Miracle will be neutered before leaving the shelter. If you are interested in adopting a pet, please call or visit the Humane Society of Deerpark/Port Jervis U.S. Route 209 North any day but Monday.
