Friends in need of homes

PORT JERVIS, N.Y. Sam is a four-year-old altered male German shepherd/border collie mix. He is housebroken and knows how to sit.’ Sam is well behaved in the house but doesn’t listen as well outside. Sam is not a chewer and lived with kids ages 3 - 15. He was okay with the other dog in the home but sometimes aggressive with strange dogs. Sam will protect his property and will make a nice companion. He is a nice reddish brown and black in color with just a little streak of white on his chest. Archie is a 1 1/2 year-old altered male. He is declawed and housebroken. Archie coloring is orange tabby with white feet, chest and mouth. He has dark rings on his tail and a cute orange patch by his mouth. His eyes are gold. Peanut is a two-year-old female German shepherd/collie mix with maybe some golden retriever mixed in or labrador. Her fur is super soft and her coloring is cream and black. Peanut doesn’t like shelter life so far and is on the shy side. Her owner works too much and has no time for her. Peanut is a loving, good, attention needy baby girl. She loves to play and is a great friend. They got Peanut from a friend who saved her from the middle of the road. Peanut knows catch, fetch, gives both paws, sit, lay down and is okay with kids. We showed her the cats at the shelter and she seemed like she would be okay with cats. The shelter will have Peanut spayed before she goes to a new home. Fe, pictured at left, and Fi, are sweet look-alike gray tabby female cats about four months old. Sometimes the nicest pets are at the shelter the longest, as is the case with these two cuties. These girls are purr machines and love to cuddle. They use the litter box and will be spayed before going to a new home. If you are interested in adopting a pet, call or visit the Humane Society of Deerpark/Port Jervis at 202 Rt. 209 North, Tuesday through Sunday. The shelter is closed Mondays.
