Friends in need of homes

Port Jervis — Ritz is a four-year-old altered male Rottweiler mix. He is black and tan with a short tail. Ritz does a great “sit” for a biscuit and seems to know “shake” as well. He came to the shelter as a stray and is a bit shy until he is out of the kennel. He loves biscuits so that will be a great motivator for training. We don’t recommend a home with young children for Ritz. Jasmine is a calm sweet natured 10-year-old spayed female grey tabby with pretty hazel eyes. She is declawed front and back and housebroken. Jasmine is calm about shelter life and will make a terrific companion. She should have many years ahead and deserves a happy life. If you are interested in adopting a pet, please call or visit the Humane Society of Deerpark/Port Jervis at 202, U.S. Route 209 North Tuesday through Sunday. The shelter is closed every Monday. You can call to check what animals are available at 845-856-3677 or visit www.pjhs.petfinder.com.
