Good day for a wetdown

Traditionally, when firefighters put new trucks in service, their colleagues in other departments are invited over to welcome the new vehicles, with a wetdown—which beyond hosing down the new vehicles turns into big water fight, with a good time had by all. Saturday was no exception in Milford as three newer trucks, an ambulance, a pumper and tanker were subject to the honors. Pike firefighters joined others from Montague, N.J. and Greenville, N.Y. in the damp festivities. In addition to the fun, five vehicle dedications commemorated the service of Charles Clarke, Jim May, John Topel, Art Meyer and Dick Canouse.
