Graduation day at St. Luke Preschool
LACKAWAXEN Earlier this month, nineteen preschool children marched into St. Luke Lutheran Church wearing their caps and gowns as graduates and future graduates of the preschool. The program opened with the Invocation given by Rev. Donald Beck, Pastor of St. Luke Lutheran Church, followed by opening remarks by teacher and director, Mary-Ellen Impastato. In her opening June 8 remarks, Impastato thanked God and St. Luke Lutheran Church for the guidance received, the parents and grandparents of the students for their cooperation, interest and participation in the various projects, the Lackawaxen Branch of the Pike County Library, the Greeley Fire Department and the Lackawaxen Ambulance Service for their service to the preschool, and she especially thanked teacher Mary Bajda, Lori Bizjak and all who assisted in teaching. The students sang the songs they learned during the year, to the delight of all present. The graduating class, receiving their diplomas, consisted of Haleigh Balla, Brianna DeForge, Aaron Denney, Ryan Kocher, Nicholas Kuhn, Zoe Spaide, Miranda Tussel and Beau Winchester. Receiving certificates, as the upcoming class of graduates, were Kaitlyn Biesel, Abby Bizjak, Nicholas DeChellis, Alyson DeForge, Caitlyn DeForge, Colin Kapulka, Ryan Monaghan, Natasha Naturale, Emily Palumbo, Bridget Prisco and Robert Tellefsen. The preschool will be taking registrations throughout the summer for the 2007-08 year. Classes are held Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Children must be 3, 4 or 5 years old by Aug. 31.
