Greene man held in child rape

BLOOMING GROVE — State police on June 16 charged a 35-year-old Greene Township man in the repeated rape of an 11 year-old child whom he was baby-sitting. Alan Weist was charged with Rape of a Child, Statutory Sexual Assault, Indecent Assault and Corruption of Minors. Police allege the incidents occurred at The Escape community, between Oct. 2004, when the victim was age 11, and June of 2007. Weist was arraigned before District Magistrate Jay Rose, who set bail at $150,000. Weist was committed to the Pike County Jail, then pending a preliminary Hearing.
