Dingman - A man wielding a weapon that was later described as a BB or pellet gun, robbed the state Route 739 Rite-Aid Pharmacy Monday morning. State police said the man handed the pharmacist a note demanding narcotics and produced a weapon. He fled the store, chased by a manager, who was unaware of the weapon, toward a waiting car near the gate for Hemlock Farms. According to a store employee, the gate guard was able to identify Matthew Stewart, 19, who drove into the development to flee. “I don’t think he ever intended to hurt anyone,” the store employee said. Stewart was later arrested by state police at his home. Surrendering to police, he was arraigned before Magistrate Alan Cooper and remanded to the Pike County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
