High school hosts district seniors

WESTFALL Senior citizens of the Delaware Valley School District were recently treated to a free breakfast and luncheon in the high school media center. Senior students from Mrs. Cavagnino’s gourmet foods classes prepared a continental breakfast while the DVHS String Quartet performed and the Jazz Band played under the direction of music teacher, Mr. Swinehardt. Mrs. Brigg’s HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) student’s demonstrated CPR and fully explained the importance of learning the skill. Mrs. Angle’s FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) members discussed their recent competitions and all of their state winners. Ms. Josephite’s business students explained the “Stock Market” game she uses to teach investing in today’s society. Mr. Llewellyn, DVMS teacher, demonstrated the use of the Smart Board in the classroom with an interactive history game. Demonstrating current technology; a “Fact or Fiction” video conference with the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame, was followed by a discussion of the school budget with Superintendent, Dr. Candis Finan and Bill Hessling, business manager. Lunch was prepared by Mr. Wehner’s Warrior Café students and served by the Family & Consumer Science students while the jazz band quartet performed under the direction of Mr. Rauh, band director. Dessert was served as the cast of “CAT’S” under the direction of Ms. Golden performed various musical numbers from the play. A Dingman Delaware Prminary School “Rockin’ Schoolhouse” production and a Special Olympics video of our student competing this winter rounded out the event.
