Hole in the Wall Gang strikes again

There’s something about the wall on lower East Catharine Street that vandals can’t seem to resist. In January, borough street department chairman Bo Fean reported that vandals in December took a number of stones from the old laid wall, leaving it unsafe. The borough crew then placed concrete blocks and stone in the hole, weighting them with bags of concrete. Next day the concrete bags and blocks had been stolen. “If the concrete had been there another day, it would have been hard and useless, Fean said. The latest effort at a fix, pictured here, involves poured concrete and stone behind the blocks. “It shows you what some people are like around here,” a frustrated Fean said Monday.
