Holidays celebrated in song at Grey Towers' kindred spirits concert

Suzanne Woods, Soprano, and John Pickle, Tenor, performed along with Martha Wade, pianist, at the Holiday Vocal Celebration at Grey Towers. The voices of this husband and wife team filled the Great Hall as they performed various arias from Tosca, Die Fledermaus, and Rigoletto as well as lighter fare from Camelot, Westside Story and an unusual holiday medley. The New York Times has described John Pickle’s voice as a “liquid tenor” and the Cleveland Plain Dealer has described Suzanne Woods’s voice as “possessing consummate artistry and vocal allure.” Martha Wade is known for her outstanding vocal accompanying and has performed at Lincoln Center, Weill, and CAMI Halls in New York. This Kindred Spirits Program was co-sponsored by Barbara J. Buchanan and Marvin and Frances Naftal. Audience members were visibly delighted and enthralled by the performance. In addition to the generosity of the co-sponsors, the program was made possible through the efforts of Kindred Spirits.
