Homeless Pike friends

Shohola — The Pike County Humane Society wants to start the new year with as many new pets finding homes as possible. At a chubby 30 pounds, three-year-old Cocoa is a good-natured, cute and loveable beagle who is good with children, housebroken, crate trained and responsive to basic commands - knowing sit, say, come and shake. Well behaved on a leash, he especially enjoys rides in the car, although he could use fenced-backyard playtime exercise to bring down his weight. If an adorable well-mannered beagle would make a great playmate and companion for you, come and let Cocoa win over your heart. Ace was surrendered when his family moved and couldn’t take him along. This two-year-old Doberman Pinscher is a friendly and big 88-pound boy who is learning good manners thanks to being fostered with a shelter staff member. He knows basic commands and responds best to gentle corrections and TLC. Speak to his foster mom about some of his fears and see how he can be a loyal and loving companion and playmate in a one-dog family. If you love dobies, this guy could be just what you’re looking for. Spend a little time with this dog and see. A one-year-young gray and white domestic short hair buddy, Cuddles has all his shots, is healthy, neutered and ready to move into the arms of a loving new family. Soft and cuddly, he’s very friendly and affectionate. Your donation in lieu of an adoption fee will let you take this babe home. To see these “adoptables,” as well as some of the other pets waiting at the Pike County Humane Society (PCHS) - visit the PCHS Web site at www.pikecountyhumanesociety.petfinder.com, or the shelter on Lee Road in Shohola. Directions and hours are on the Web site or available by calling 570-296-7654.
