How-to seminar for builders in the historic district
Milford On Tuesday, June 9, the PCEDA, The Pike County Economic Development Authority in partnership with Milford Borough Council, the Pike County Chamber of Commerce and the Pike County Builders Association, will be hosting “Working with ARB,” a seminar on the Architectural Review Board’s (ARB) regulations for Milford Borough. The program will be held at the Milford Borough Hall on East Catharine Street from 9 AM to noon. Topics to be covered will include: projects required to comply with the Architectural Review Board’s regulations, the approval process, step by step instructions for going through the process efficiently, the costs involved, the differences between projects needing administrative review as opposed to a formal review, how to present a project at an ARB meeting, and what is required for making energy efficiency improvements in the historic district. There will also be a question and answer period. Presenters will include Ed Raarup, former ARB member and current borough councilman; Jim McLain, and Vlad Potiyevsky, both current architectural ARB members. Milford Borough’s architectural review process has often been misunderstood and sometimes controversial. This seminar is intended to provide information to commercial and residential property owners, and their tenants, about the permitting process required to conduct exterior improvements to their buildings and signs in Milford Borough. Refreshments will be provided. To register, contact Tammy Savarese at 296-7332 or admin@pidco.com .
