Hunter killed in fall

    BLOOMING GROVE - State police said a New Jersey deer hunter died after falling from an elevated tree stand in the state game lands on the morning of Nov. 28. Police said that 64 year-old, Amier Perez of North Bergen was hunting with a party between Shohola Falls and the Well Road. The group separated at about 5:30 a.m., leaving Perez at his chosen stand. Several hours later they were unable to make contact with him and returned to the stand and found the unconscious hunter on the ground. Police said further investigation found that Perez suffered neck and back trauma in what has been determined to have been an accidental fall. The Pike County Coroner and state Game Commission officers assisted at the accident scene.
