Lakeville — Sculpted Ice Works, Inc. is expanding and has moved to its new Lakeville location on state Route 590, in Paupack Township in Wayne County. Planned for the new location is a factory tour and ice harvesting museum, which will showcase the area’s ice harvesting history and allow the public to view the modern production of ice blocks and creation of ice sculptures. Sculpted Ice Works, Inc, has been in business since 1999. The company has moved into Wayne County due to its need for increased ice block manufacturing capability as well as providing an ideal location for ice attractions. Currently the business primarily serves the Tri-state region with custom ice carvings and wholesale ice carving blocks. The move to the new facility will allow for renovations of one of the buildings into a high-efficient ice-carving block manufacturing facility, which will in the future manufacture up to 3000 blocks of ice per month. The business aims to widen its wholesale block market with increased production of ice blocks, to serve the entire country. Currently the production of clear ice blocks is 1250 per month, and this places Sculpted Ice Works, Inc second in production of clear carving ice blocks in the United States, and third in North America. Once the new manufacturing facility is up and running, the company should be the largest in the U.S. in clear block manufacturing. Sculpted Ice Works, Inc currently employs several full time managers, carving staff, delivery drivers, production staff, and several part-time positions . The expansion project is expected to create 20 new jobs over the next three years. For more information, contact Sculpted Ice Works at 570-226-6246 or www.sculptediceworks.com .
