Independence Day bash in the borough

    MILFORD — The Borough of Milford will be celebrating the upcoming patriotic holiday in grand and historic style from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 4. Local businesses and restaurants will be decked out in the red-white-blue theme and music will fill the air, while costumed characters welcome people into town in front of the Pike County Chamber of Commerce. The celebration will begin at the Pike County Public Library at 11:30 a.m. with bagpipes and an opening ceremony. Members of the American Readers Theatre will read the Declaration of Independence, the VFW Honor Guard will present the American Flag and Milford’s Boy Scout Troop will lead the Pledge of Allegiance. Pike County Chamber of Commerce Board President, Susan Hines, will welcome all to Milford and the National Anthem will be sung by local resident, Miss Morgane Fouse. For the remainder of the afternoon, entertainment events for all ages will be spread out at various locations throughout the downtown area.
