Don Hamilton, the natural resources specialist for the National Park Service at the Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River is pictured Wednesday at the interstate bridge at Shohola as he and assistant Jessica Weyant performed a battery of bi-weekly samplings and tests on the Delaware’s water quality. In addition to basics like temperature, samples are also measured locally for oxygen content and turbidity. Still others go for laboratory tests in Philadelphia. Hamilton said tests are done in conjunction with NPS at the Water Gap and the Delaware River Basin Commission.
