Keeping the railroad heritage alive

The Tri-States Railway Preservation Society of Port Jervis held its third annual train show on Saturday, Nov. 1. The show, which normally draws crowds from around the tri-state area and beyond, is primarily a fundraiser for a potential exhibit museum, according to Society president Julio Petitti. Train collectors, hobbyists, and sellers gathered at the Matamoras Fire House to display items, while the society offered raffles, refreshments and games to those in attendance. Petitti said hundreds normally attend the show each year, looking for holiday gifts or items to add to collections. Photo by Kathryn Braisted.
