Kids helped out the Humane Society

WESTFALL Mrs. Kathy Gonzalez’s fourth grade class at Delaware Valley Elementary School raised $170.00 for the Pike County Humane Society this past school year. They also made a collage with some photos of their pets, and got some toys to donate for the animals there. At the end of the school year, Barry Heim from the Pike County Humane Society came to their classroom to pick up the money, the collage and the toys. They got to ask Barry questions about the animals and he got to sign their yearbooks. The best part was that he brought in acute puppy, according to our correspondent Baylee Roeder. The puppy was a beagle and a Labrador retriever mix named Sandy. “We all got a chance to pet her and hold her. When it was time for them to leave, we helped Barry carry his things to his car. We said good-bye and wished Sandy good luck in finding a new home. It was really fun having Barry and Sandy visit our classroom,” she wrote.
