MILFORD - When members of the Kiesendahl family of Woodloch recently presented a check for $5,000 to Pike United Way, they had given a total of $36,000 over a six-year period. Reminiscing about their first donation, they said in a statement, “When Pike United Way first came to see us six years ago to describe their vision of forming an organization that would raise funds to improve and expand human services in Pike County, we immediately saw the need, liked their plan, and agreed to make a leadership gift. It was the first such gift received by the fledgling United Way, and the beginning of our long term commitment to this vitally needed organization”. As Mike Peifer, Board President of Pike United Way, received the check, he said, “Vision soon became reality. We grew and became publicly hailed as a significant force in improving the lives of needy people in Pike County. The Kiesendahl’s continuous support has been a tremendous help in meeting our annual fund raising goals. Peifer went on to say, “The Pike United Way Annual Campaign goal for 2005-06 is $125,000. It will take many people, and many donations, both large and small to meet it. For those who would like to join the Kiesendahl family, and the hundreds of other community partners who are part of this effort, there are several ways you can do it.” You can send your check to United Way of Pike County, Box 806 Milford, PA 18337.
