Library picnic rescheduled to Sunday, Sept. 7
MILFORD The threat of heavy rain and high winds on Saturday, has caused the Pike County Public Library’s Family Picnic to be rescheduled to this Sunday, Sept. 7. All of the regularly scheduled old-fashioned fun events will happen from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday at the site of the new Library headquarters on East Harford Street in Milford. So, grab the kids and some spare change, and head on over to the Pike County Public Library’s old-fashioned picnic on Sunday, Sept. 7. For only $2 a ticket, you’ll get a hot dog, ice cream and a cold drink, along with a hearty serving of family fun. This end of summer shindig will offer free face painting for the kids and much, much more. In keeping with the Pike County Public Library’s focus on conservation issues, the picnic will include a special demonstration of birds of prey (hawks, eagles, owls, falcons, and vultures) by the Delaware Valley Raptor Center, which will provide youngsters with the opportunity to see the raptors up-close and learn more about their habits and habitat. The festivities will also include a children’s book sale, conducted by the Friends of the Pike County Public Library (with proceeds going to support Library programming) and other entertaining and family-friendly offerings.
