MILFORD - The Milford Lions weekend craft show was officially on last weekend, but the drizzly to monsoon-like weather kept crowds to a minimum, president Bill Harkness said Sunday. The Ann Street Memorial Park “collected water like a bowl on Saturday afternoon,” said Ken Mims. The annual craft fair is a fundraiser for several ongoing Lion’s programs, including “Leader Dogs for the Blind,” corneal donation and transplantion through the Northeast PA Lions Eye Bank, and Beacon Lodge Camp, a recreational facility for children and adults with various disabilities. Lions locally have also been involved in raising relief funds for the victims of the hurricanes on the Gulf Coast. Harkness said Lions Clubs International Foundation has so far donated $250,000 and expects to do more.
