Literacy tutor training scheduled
HAWLEY The Wayne Pike Adult Literacy Program will be holding our basic tutor training for tutoring of adults in Hawley on Tuesdays, Apr. 8 & 10 and Thursdays, Apr. 15 & 17, from 47 p.m. for completion of our 12-hour tutor training. If you would like to volunteer and help someone improve their reading skills, learn how to tutor adults with The Wayne Pike Adult Literacy Program. The Wayne Pike Adult Literacy Program provides, free of charge, one on one volunteer tutoring for adults 17 and older for residents of Pike or Wayne counties. This includes Adult Basic Education skills, English as a Second Language and General Equivalency Development or GED. No previous teaching skills are required but patience; love and understanding are a must.
