4-H Club offers summer fun for younger children

BUSHKILL — Summer's a time for kids to try something new. At two 4-H Club events coming in August, children will have the opportunity to indulge their curiosity and have fun.
These activities are open to children ages 5 to 8 as of Jan. 1 in Pike and Monroe County:
4-H Cloverbud Camp — For kids ages 5 to 8, Aug. 9-11, from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at Lehman Park in Bushkill. Hands-on, age-appropriate activities. Kids will make a terrarium, learn about puppetry, explore the importance of leaves, and make ice cream from scratch. 4-H members pay $15, non-members $20.
Young Scientists — For children age 5-8, Tuesday, Aug. 16, from 9:30-11:30 a.m., at Akenac Park, Dingmans Ferry. 4-H members pay $5, non-members $10.

4-H is the youth development program of Penn State Extension for children age 5-18. Using adult volunteers, 4-H enables kids to have fun, meet new people, build self-confidence and learn by doing cool things. 4-Her's learn through involvement in projects such as wildlife sciences, art, rocketry or pet care.
