Beauty day for the ladies at Twin Cedars

MILFORD — The ladies at Twin Cedars in Shohola recently had a day of hair, makeup and vintage hats. They were all "ready for their close up" and donned hats, provided by the Columns Museum, after having their hair done in the community's salon. Their make up was done by Maureen Caska and Kate, of TLC Salon.
The afternoon was filled with smiles and laughter as the women were delighted to get all gussied up, swap stories, and pose for the camera.
The idea for the afternoon was conceived by Twin Cedars' Administrator Tamara Singer, and brought to life with the help of the Museum and TLC Salon.
Singer wanted to create a special day where the ladies would feel glamorous about themselves, get dressed up, and have an individual glamour shot to share with their loved ones. All participants enjoyed a lovely afternoon not soon to be forgotten.
Caska, owner of TLC Salon, donated her time, products and services to make the afternoon a success. TLC Salon, located in Milford, has been serving the area's residents for many years.
The Columns Museum has been providing outreach programming to the residents at Twin Cedars on a monthly basis for nearly three years, and the residents have visited the museum, as well.
Singer said she will continue to have ongoing programs that boost the self esteem of Twin Cedars' seniors and enhance their best qualities.
Twin Cedars provides an assortment of unique programs and lectures as well as weekly outings. They provide assistance with personal care needs, meals, housekeeping and laundry services, physical therapy, supervision and nursing care to their residents.
