Bids awarded for Dingman road projects

DINGMAN TOWNSHIP — Supervisors awarded three road-related bids at their June 1 meeting.
Only one bid came in, on the day of the meeting, to tar and chip Park Road. Town Solicitor John Klemeyer opened the $22,700 proposal from RSS Carson of Lafayette, N.J., which requested the 10 percent bid bond as well. RSS won the day.
The project includes two coats of tar and chip, in approximately 3,600 feet of varied widths.
The road materials bid drew more interest, with four firms submitting proposals: Hanson Aggregates PA from Lake Ariel, Edwards Sand & Stone from Elmhurst Township, Atkinson Materials from Hawley, and Eureka Stone Quarry of Milford.
Eureka Stone, the hometown bid, came in at the price recommended by Roadmaster Jim Snyder. The supervisors approved the bid, which totals $$33,867.
The third bid, for $128,883, went to Wayco Asphalt Plant in Hawley for paving Kiesel Road, Gavoille Road, Metz Road, and Bridge Road. (See sidebar for breakdown).
