— The Delaware Valley High School Music Department has a busy and challenging fall schedule this year:

Benefit concert — The ninth annual benefit concert will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 16, in the high school auditorium. A $5 donation is requested, with proceeds to support the Music Department’s scholarship fund. Six $1,000 scholarships were awarded to well-deserving graduates of the Class of 2015.

Audition — Select choral students from the high school will be auditioning for placement for the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association's District Chorus on Oct. 19. A select group of male choral students will have the privilege to participate in Men of Song at Penn State University on Oct. 24.

Master class — The Delaware Valley High School Chorus will participate in an all-day event at Kutztown University on Oct. 21, where they will attend a Master Class and work with students from other schools.

Football — The Delaware Valley Marching Band will be performing at all home and away football games this year. Each home game will also feature a choral group from the school district to perform the National Anthem.

"We are grateful to the community for all of the support given to the music department and our talented students," said a statement from the music department's booster club. "We are pleased to have been chosen two years in a row as one of the best communities for music education."
