Commissioners contribute to trooper garden

Robert Weintraub, project coordinator with the Pike County Master Gardeners program, recently accepted personal checks from all three county commissioners toward a memorial garden planned to honor the late Cpl. Byron Dickson, killed in an ambush at the state police barracks in Blooming Grove last year. Each commissioner contributed $125 of his own money to the garden, which the Master Gardeners will build at the barracks. The garden is expected to cost $11,714. To contribute, make checks payable to PSCE Program Account (write “Memorial Garden” in the memo section) and send them to Penn State Extension, 514 Broad St., Milford, PA 18337.
