Students in Mrs. Curtis’s first grade class at Delaware Valley Elementary School experimented to see which bird beaks are best for obtaining different types of food by using straws to represent the tweezer type beaks of some birds and scoop beaks for birds such as ducks and pelicans. Students are learning how some animals have developed adaptations that allow them to find food in their environment.
