Fun ways to learn about science can help keep kids engaged in school, a notion recently tested by the fourth-grade class of Mrs. Carol Navitsky, of the Delaware Valley Elementary School. Recently her class conducted an investigation on gummy worms, as they learned about the scientific process.

The students had to design the experiment, beginning by asking the question, “what will happen to a gummy worm if I put it into water for 24 hours?” They had to come up with a hypothesis and a list of supplies, while also planning the experiment and forming a conclusion after looking at their results.
