Dingsmans Ferry -- The Dingmans Ferry-Delaware Township Historical Society will present The Carving of Mt. Rushmore: Out of Rushmore’s Shadows on Sunday, May 18, from at 2 p.m. at the Delaware Township Municipal Building 116 Wilson Hill Road,

The free program is open to members and the general public. Donations are accepted.

Lou Del Bianco grew up knowing his grandfather was the artist who brought Mt. Rushmore to life, and rather than let him slip into obscurity, he made it his mission to make sure America knew, too. The Luigi Del Bianco Story is the culmination of his 25-year quest to discover and secure his family’s place in history.

The society’s Free Museum at Akenac Park on Route 739 is open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., typically the second Saturday and fourth Sunday of each month, and also when there is an event at Akenac. Upcoming dates are May 10 and 25 and June 14 and 29.
