Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area announced last week that Dingmans Campground is under new management.

Dingmans Campground is a popular destination within the park and is often booked well in advance for summer weekends. It is operated under a concessions contract with the NPS.

“We wish the previous campground operator, John Lonergan, all the best in his retirement and thank him for his hard work over the past several years,” Park Superintendent Doyle Sapp said in the press release announcing the change. “We are looking forward to working with the new management team so that we can continue to offer outstanding camping opportunities to park visitors, including those from local communities.”

Speaking of campers from local communities: Hunter and Wyatt Karch, two brothers from Milford, share plenty of memories from Dingmans Campground where they camped with their family while growing up.

On Aug. 7, the Karch brothers took over the remaining term of the concession contract and became the new campground operators following the retirement of the previous operator.
Building on memories from their youth and adding fresh new ideas, the sibling team is looking forward to providing memorable camping experiences to new generations and to continuing long-standing traditions for returning guests.
