— Eighth-graders in Leslie Sikora's Family and Consumer Sciences class competed in the fifth annual chili competition at Delaware Valley Middle School.
They worked together to make the best crock of chili, all varying in flavor, ingredients, spices, and toppings.
Their concoctions were put to the test by two faculty members, Jesse Jayne and Kristin Terrones, who submitted their own homemade chili. Students, faculty, and staff all sampled the chili and voted on the all-around best.
This year’s competition resulted in a tie. One of the winners was a beef-based chili created by Taylor Hill, Caroline Quinn, Connor Mueller, Garret Berlin, and Ryan Worden. The other was Mrs. Terrones' own personal chili recipe.
