Honesdale. Observe National Moment of Remembrance this Memorial Day
“Honor Memorial Day’s true meaning” is the message from staff at the Honesdale VA Outpatient Clinic for May 29. The outpatient clinic, which provides primary and women’s health to eligible veterans, is once again promoting participation in “The National Moment of Remembrance” and asking for the community’s support.
Taking part is actually quite simple: In keeping with the December, 2000 law signed by then U.S. President Bill Clinton, all Americans are encouraged to pause for a moment at 3 p.m. – no matter where they are - on Memorial Day to honor those who lost their lives while serving in the armed forces.
To help spread the word, employees across all Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers (WMCHC) sites will be asked to wear and distribute campaign buttons with the slogan “Memorial Day, 3 p.m., Take a Moment.”
“We’re happy to have so many of our co-workers across WMCHC and Wayne Memorial Hospital supporting our efforts again,” said Jolene Pryzant, LPN care manager at Honesdale VA Outpatient Clinic Pryzant is leading the drive for a second year and added that requests to restock supplies were met with enthusiasm from office managers.
Anyone interested in receiving a free campaign button can call the Honesdale VA Outpatient Clinic at 570-251-6543. The clinic is part of Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers. Log onto www.wmchc.net for more information.
