The Pike Family Health Center, part of Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers (WMCHC), welcomes Nurse Practitioner Janet Armstrong.

Armstrong provides outpatient primary care at the practice located at 750 Route 739 in Lords Valley.

“Great teamwork and support is essential to provide exceptional care not only for patients but for each other as well,” Armstrong said in the press release describing what swayed her decision to further her career as a WMCHC provider. “I had a great experience precepting at Highland Physicians. I enjoy the atmosphere where people treat each other with respect while caring for patients together.”

Armstrong was a Registered Nurse for 12 years before completing a Master of Science degree in Nursing from Chamberlain University in Chicago, Ill., to become a Family Nurse Practitioner.

Her experience as a Registered Nurse includes Pocono Medical Center’s medical/surgical unit specializing in geriatric, pulmonary and infectious disease as well as inpatient and outpatient dialysis for DaVita. She was the Nurse Manager for Chronic Hemodialysis at DaVita in East Stroudsburg for more than six years. Additionally, Armstrong served as a substitute school nurse in the Pocono and Stroudsburg area school districts.

Armstrong is one of three advanced practice providers at the Pike Family Health Center working with Board-certified Family Physician Dr. Traceyan Mendez.
