Meet the DV Hall of Famers




MILFORD — The Delaware Valley High School Hall of Fame Committee has announced its induction class for 2017.
The four new members are Ryan Balton, Tamara Chant, Thad Smith, and David Synder.
The new members will be introduced before the start of Delaware Valley’s Homecoming football game on Saturday, Sept. 30. The following day, Oct. 1, they will be formally inducted at a banquet held at 5 p.m. at the High Point Country Club.
Ryan Balton, a member of the class of 2007, earned a dual bachelor of arts degree in television, radio, film, and policy studies from Syracuse University in 2011. He is enjoying a successful career as lead studio operator, and freelance jib operator.
Tamara Chant, a member of the class of 1978, earned a bachelor of arts degree in economics and German civilization from Smith College in 1982. A career in marketing has taken her to countries throughout the world. Currently she has returned to the area as executive director of Safe Haven of Pike County.
Thad Smith, a member of the class of 1987, earned a bachelor of science degree from East Stroudsburg University and a masters of education from Wilkes University. He is teacher and department chairman in the East Penn School District and is involved in coaching several sports.
David Snyder, a member of the class of 1990, earned an associate’s degree in culinary arts from the Pennsylvania College of Technology. A master chef, he is currently vice president of culinary operations and development for Wynn Resorts in Las Vegas.
All inductees were active during their years at Delaware Valley High School and continue as adults to contribute to their communities.
