Next Delaware River Clean-Up set

| 28 Jul 2015 | 10:52

The next Delaware River Clean-Up will take place on Saturday, Aug. 15, and will cover the area between the Skinners Falls DEC Access and the Narrowsburg DEC Access. Volunteers will meet at the Narrowsburg DEC Access in Narrowsburg, N.Y., at 9 a.m., and will be shuttled to the Skinners Falls DEC Access. Volunteers can expect to be off the river by 3 p.m. Volunteers will experience the wild and scenic beauty of the Delaware, while learning about our watershed, wildlife, and invasive species; all while helping preserve the river for future generations.

The National Park Service will provide equipment, including life jackets, canoes and paddles. Volunteers should bring appropriate gear, such as a change of clothes, closed-toe shoes, a hat, sunscreen, a dry bag, plenty of water and a bagged lunch. Volunteers should plan to get wet and should know how to swim.

Space is limited to 20 volunteers. Call 570-685-4871 to register.
