— The Peebles store in Matamoras donated $489 from its annual Community Counts program to Calling All Angels Mission in Milford.
Customers at the store were encouraged during April to donate to Community Counts.
Calling All Angels board member and secretary Charles Reynolds said he was “elated to receive the check at this time.” The money will benefit the mission's Winter Sheltering Fund.
“We are trying to raise at least $4,500 by October 1 in order to be able to offer those in need this winter a place to stay for a few nights and get out of the cold," said Reynolds. "Along with donations we have collected so far in the thrift shop we run, this is a great start to this fund program.”
Calling All Angels Mission is a non-profit that runs a thrift shop at 611 Broad St., in Milford. Its purpose is to address, educate, coordinate, and provide aid and relief to eradicate hunger and assist individuals and families in need locally and globally.
