Pike junior firefighter program offered this summer

Lords Valley. The Pike County Training Center is offering a 40-hour junior firefighter course to instill the responsibility, teamwork and core skills necessary to be successful in the fire service.

This course is designed for girls and boys under 18. There is no need to be affiliated to an organization to attend.

The schedule is as follows:

● Tuesday, July 6 — Introduction, History of Pike Fire Service

● Wednesday, July 7 — PPE / Fireground Communication

● Tuesday, July 13 — Dry Line (Hose Rolls and Packs)

● Wednesday, July 14 — Hand Tools / Forcible Entry

● Saturday, July 17 — Wet Lines (Deployment and Operation)

● Tuesday, July 20 — Ladders / Search

● Wednesday, July 21 — Wildland Firefighting

● Saturday, July 24 — Vehicle Rescue
