Police ask for help finding alleged kidnapper

DUNMORE — The Pennsylvania State Police in Dunmore are attempting to locate Robert Helbing Jr., 36, Scranton, who has been charged with kidnapping, criminal conspiracy to commit kidnapping, robbery (2 counts), criminal conspiracy to commit robbery (2 counts), theft by unlawful taking or disposition, receiving stolen property, criminal conspiracy to commit theft, simple assault, and criminal conspiracy to commit simple assault.

These charges stem from an incident that occurred on Feb. 28, when, police said, Helbing and two accomplices offered the victim a ride to Lock Haven. Helbing instead drove the victim to a location near the Thornhurst Country Club Estates in Thornhurst Township, Lackawanna County, where they assaulted and robbed the victim.
